90 degrees without AC

Hoo Boy!  It's hot here!  It was like 90 degrees yesterday and we do not have air conditioning.  Poor TerraDactyl had a hard day.  It started out alright.  She was pretty calm and I managed to have TWO phone conversations.  I know, it sounds silly, but I only talk on the phone like once every two weeks, so two in one day is a lot.

But then, I put the moisturizer on TerraDactyl.  She started out putting up with it OK.  But when I got to her arms she did NOT like that at all.  And that's when I saw the red on her elbows.  I'm not sure if it's a reaction to the moisturizer, or because she usually has her arms bent all day long, or something else.  But it doesn't look fun.  So around noon we had our first meltdown.

Chillin' while mom showers

TerraDactyl calmed down for a little bit.  She let me shower.  And I got to eat breakfast, too!  But as the day progressed, it got hotter.  And I did not get around to closing the windows fast enough.  So the house warmed up more than it should have.  And once it warmed up, it was all over for TerraDactyl.  She wouldn't nap, which just made her crankier.  After about noon she'd just had it.  I ended up eating a doughnut for lunch because TerraDactyl wouldn't give me the time to make a sandwich (or use two hands to eat).  I spent the rest of the day trying to soothe her.

Poor DH came home to a hot house with an unhappy baby and I just left TerraDactyl with him because I was starving and I wanted to eat dinner.  DH really wanted to watch Stranger than Fiction and ultimately, he got through it.  But it's a 113 minute movie and it took more than 3 hours to get through it because TerraDactyl kept interrupting.  The only way DH got to finish the movie is because half way through I took TerraDactyl out of the room so he could finish before he had to go to bed for work.

Look at those teary eyes

Usually TerraDactyl drifts off to sleep around 8 or 8:30 pretty easily.  But it was still hot, so she was up until almost 10.  Poor kiddo.
