Girl's Day In
DH went for a hike on Saturday with Riley, so TerraDactyl and I got to hang out together all day long. It went pretty well. She slept in a bit, which meant I got to sleep in a bit. And then we spent about an hour downstairs watching the robot vacuum cleaner. TerraDactyl couldn't decide if she wanted to run away from it or towards it. It was cracking me up. In the video you can also see her drawing with a pencil. I found this FASCINATING because I can't think of a single instance of TerraDactyl watching someone use a pencil. We don't even really use pens around her. But she knew which end would draw and she drew on the notebook I had left on the end table. Maybe it looks enough like a crayon for her to make the leap of logic?
This next video is a sample of what my darling TerraDactyl does during nap time. Hint: it's NOT sleep.
I think TerraDactyl might be interested in pursuing a career as a stage magician. She's been practicing that trick where you try and whip the table cloth off a table without disturbing anything on the table. Except we don't have a table cloth, we have place mats. And instead of everything staying in its place on the table, everything falls onto the floor. Don't worry, she'll keep practicing until she gets it right.
When DH finally got back from his hike, TerraDactyl was SO excited to see him. She flipped out. She saw him through the dining room window first and started screeching for Da Da Da Da! And then she ran over to the baby gate so she'd be there when he came inside. When DH picked her up she clung to him soooo tight. It was absolutely adorable. Her little legs were swinging back and forth like wagging puppy tails. DH said it was the "most loved he'd ever felt" by TerraDactyl since... ever.
Riley spent the rest of the day sleeping hard. He didn't even wake up when I walked over to him to take this picture. Poor puppy was so tired from his big hike.
TerraDactyl is into her size 4 shoes now! Check out a bit of a sampling below... So far she's really enjoyed this tassel shoe/bronze sneaker combo for the last few days. I'm not sure why she likes to mix and match. It kind of worries me since the soles have different thicknesses, but she seems to handle it ok, so I guess I won't worry about it?
I absolutely love the rain boots. I think she's just adorable in them. This whole outfit really, just cracks me up. The stripes make her look like some sort of colorful convict. And when paired with the whole "gripping the bars of the baby gate" thing she does... TerraDactyl definitely gives off some "get me out of here" vibes.
