A Very Weedy Holy Saturday

Spiffy duds!

Yesterday was Saturday, so DH took TerraDactyl's morning shift so I could sleep in.  It's nice to be able to sleep in and catch up a bit on sleep.  I don't do well on little sleep.  DH chose this absolutely adorable outfit for TerraDactyl.  She was so cute!

Dada!!

Unfortunately, TerraDactyl was considerably less cute later in the day when she refused to nap.  So.  No nap yesterday.  I had planned to try another nap later in the day, but we got busy and I forgot about it.

Trying to figure out how to cross the grassy expanse

We spent four hours outside weeding!  TerraDactyl started out in the shade on a blanket, but she was NOT happy about being alone, even if DH and I were just on the other side of a fence, and Riley was keeping her company.

So instead, TerraDactyl joined me while I tried to weed.  Some of the time she sat on my leg while I squatted, some of the time she stood and held on to me or the fence.  And SOME of the time...  she helped weed!  It was so cute.  Here's a video of my little gardener.

So cute!  Unfortunately, we did not think to take before pictures of the garden.  So all these pictures are AFTER the weeding.  But we didn't finish the garden, so you can kind of get an idea of how many weeds there were based on the half of the garden that we didn't really get to.

The garden beds that DH finished

I worked a bit on the left side of the front bed

You may be asking yourself, "if DH got two garden beds weeded, how did you only get 1/4 of a garden bed done??"  Well, I also weeded the walkway.  It was filled with knee high weeds.  But now it looks pretty good.

You can see the bark!!

The garden looks SO much better than it did.  I really do wish we'd taken a before picture.  After lunch, we took turns working and keeping TerraDactyl occupied.  In the late afternoon the garden is in full sun, so I didn't want TerraDactyl out in the sun.  She kept taking her hat off, and she doesn't have enough hair to keep her little head from getting sun burned.  So we still have some weeding to do.

Lunch break!  Reading at the table just like mommy.  I guess we'd better start enforcing better habits/manners.

I do have an update on the pear front!  It seems like TerraDactyl has decided that she likes them.  This is her eating more pears:
