We Sold a House!

That's right folks - we're back down to owning one house!  YAY!  Yesterday we closed on our old house, and we got our money and everything.  PHEW.  We're SO glad to have that done.  It was a good little house, but it's off our hands now. 

Too cool for school

I had a hard time getting TerraDactyl to let me put her sunglasses on.  She kept trying to rip them off her face.  But I think it was because we were still inside and maybe it was too dark for her to see.  Once we got outside she was OK with them.  She's the same way with hats.  She never puts up with wearing hats inside and occasionally won't put up with hats even if we're outside.  I'd really prefer she wait until she has more hair before rejecting hats though.  :)

This isn't the best photo of TerraDactyl's new stuffed animal bin, but it's that grey thing in the background.  It's one of those fabric hampers that fold up small for dorm rooms.  It's big enough to hold all her stuffed animals and she can reach inside it, but it's still soft enough that she can't flip it over and whack herself in the face.  It's perfect. 

Why do plastic bags always say "not a toy"??  Plastic bags are the BEST toys!  jk

I took this photo in the middle of our nap time ritual.  She's in her sleep sack and we're just finishing up The Going to Bed Book.  I just have to turn on her sound machine and lay her down in the crib.  I took a bit of a chance with the picture since TerraDactyl LOVES my phone, but I just had too.  I was cracking up because the whole time we were reading our book, she'd shoved her little hand down my shirt and was chilling with it there.  The little weirdo. 

Nap Time!

Speaking of nap time...  TerraDactyl was having a great nap the other day.  Super quiet.  I was busy doing ...  something (I can't remember) downstairs when I choose to take a look at her on her video monitor.  I don't even think it was for any reason, I just wanted to see what weird position she was sleeping in.  Sometimes she uses a stuffed animal as a pillow.  But usually, she's got her legs curled under her and her butt in the air.  Anyways...  This is what I found.  She's being totally quiet, the sound is up on the monitor.

A Parade!

Check out all the candy TerraDactyl collected from the 4th of July Parade!  DH said she had a blast running out and picking up the candy.  For most of the parade they were spaced pretty far away from other kids so she actually had a chance to get the candy.  After a while though, another family with older kids camped out on their other side and they pretty much cleaned up the street before TerraDactyl could get to it.  She's not super aggressive with these things (yet - I'm sure she'll inherit a decent dose of competitiveness).  Also, check out her awesome snow boots that she insisted on wearing.  She's such a nut. My Name is Still Mom

TerraDactyl had her first day of school.  It went super smoothly.  She had zero problems with us dropping her off with a bunch of strangers.  Once the teacher said she could play with the toys in the room, she had no more interest in her parents.  And DH and I suddenly had 3 child-free hours!   Here's one of the last photos of me pregnant.  Do you think these vertical lines are slimming?  I know I look huge.  There's a good reason for that... This little grumpy troll (aka SaraTops) was born on July 14 at 2:42pm, weighing 9 lbs, 10 oz!  She was a big one!  More than a pound heavier than TerraDactyl was, but an inch shorter (20.5" vs 21.5")!   SaraTops is actually much more attractive than that last picture indicates.  We refered to her as Norm throughout the pregnancy because Norm MacDonald is DH's favorite comedian and DH suggested we name her after him.  I did not agree to that plan, but I did allow Norm as a ni...

Summer Camp

  Tomorrow TerraDactyl will be starting her first day of summer camp.  It's twice a week for 3 hours each day.  The class is super small (5 kids) and they're all 3 or 4 years old.  It's only for the month of July.  Hopefully, she'll like it.  It's a nut-free building, so I was struggling to find filling snacks for TerraDactyl to bring with her.  I ended up finding these snack cups of olives and pouches of pickles.  I was so excited about my find.  And you know what DH had to say?  "Olives and pickles for snacks?  What are you trying to get TerraDactyl bullied?"  :P  (I'm still packing the olives for her). TerraDactyl really does like olives though.  She seems to kind of like the pickles, but the olives pretty much always get cleaned off her plate.  I'd also like to point out that neither DH nor I taught her to shove the olives onto her fingers.  She just started doing that one day.  Maybe it's innate.....
