TerraDactyl's bangs have been a bit unruly of late. I've been sweeping them off to the side with the intention of using a clip or barrette to hold them there. But I've been having some difficulty finding a satisfactory toddler barrette. Her hair is so fine and delicate and I don't want to damage it. When I was in high school, I did gymnastics with a girl used to use a metal clip to hold her bangs back while she practiced. One day she landed on the clip and it basically turned the metal clip into scissors. Every hair got cut. So she stopped using clips and just used gel. But it's hard to find a gel strong enough to withstand gymnastics. So she ended up looking like Sonic the Hedgehog by the end of every practice. Obviously, this is not exactly a likely scenario, but it does make me a bit cautious. Not to mention that TerraDactyl doesn't like anything on her head. She removes hats, headbands, hoods......
We had an exciting day yesterday. On our way to give TerraDactyl a bath, she poked me in the eyeball. It hurt BAD. I basically couldn't do anything but ice it for 2 hours. It was pretty terrible. It hurt to open my eye, it hurt to move my eye, it hurt to not maintain pressure on my eye... It even hurt to open up my unaffected eye. DH got me a web doctor appointment and they said I needed to go to urgent care so the doctor could check me out in person. Since I was actively icing my eyeball, I couldn't wear glasses. I figured I would be OK without them for a bit. I regularly walk around without my glasses at home. I used to compete gymnastics without my glasses. I didn't really think about the fact that I was going to a location where I'd never been before. DH and TerraDactyl didn't come inside with me (to avoid unnecessary contact with the outside world). And all the signs are written assuming patie...
We're Back! Phew! We've been super busy! Things have been a little crazy, just one small thing after another. TerraDactyl got off her sleeping/napping schedule so that really messed us up for a bit. And then we were trying to deal with an overabundance of garden produce... And well, things just kept happening. Since we can't swing at parks, we've had to go private We've been taking stroller walks lately. TerraDactyl loves her stroller. She'd really love it if I'd take up jogging, but really, that's never going to happen. Every now and then I'll run for a bit though. She thinks that's the best thing ever. And this helps keep us both cooler, since she's not strapped to my body. Just a couple of cool kids DH's been trying to get 10,000 steps everyday, so we're doing our best to help him out when he needs it. We have to make sure we put the stroller away though, because if we leave it out, TerraDactyl...
Gettin' there! :D
