We've had some really great weather, so I've been busy trying to take TerraDactyl outside on walks and blanket time. She really likes being outside. But not wearing hats! Notice the distinct lack of hat. This is not because of my failing as a mother. TerraDactyl refused to wear her adorable sun hat. She chose to chew on it instead. She's also not really a fan of crawling on grass, so she'll stay on the blanket and play with Riley and me.

Warm, even in the shade! |
TerraDactyl has really been getting into her Pat the Bunny book lately. She'll ask to read it, or even play with it herself.
 |
She shoved it under the drawers, so she couldn't open it so she's trying to peek inside... |
I had a lot of fun watching TerraDactyl flip the pages and interact with the book, chattering all the while. She was having so much fun. And then she got into the Peek-A-Boo page... Yeah... That page really does require supervision. I didn't get to her fast enough and now we have this:

TerraDactyl has a really strong grip |
She darn near ripped the whole thing off. Whoops. I'm sad, but she really enjoys playing with it, so... I guess we'll just work on wearing that book out.

TerraDactyl is a pro at getting onto the couch these days |
TerraDactyl is continuing her quest to get higher. She can crawl both directions over the arm of the love seat, to get onto the couch or back down onto the end table box. So far she has had
zero interest in my "how to safely climb down by going feet first" lessons. She's overly confident in her ability to climb down head first. And she's always looking for something nearby that's slightly higher so she can keep climbing. She's either going to be a rock climber or a trapeze artist. Or maybe a roofer.

Everybody is waiting for DH to get home! |
We're getting our new house into shape, but it's slow going. A lot of projects require two people and TerraDactyl is not always the most helpful of babies. We barely managed to hang curtains in our dining room the other day. I wanted the curtain hung because in the morning TerraDactyl is blinded by the sun, so I wanted to protect her little eyeballs. And I figured it would be a quick and easy project. It's not! I mean, it would have been way better without a baby interfering, but I didn't take the length of the curtains into account when we were hanging the rods... It was sheer dumb luck that we got close to the right height. The rod was a little too low, but I've learned a valuable lesson: Blinds are way easier. :D

Baby eyeballs are now safe at breakfast time! |
I'm not sure if you can tell by the pics, but I'm making a concerted effort to dressing TerraDactyl in her cute clothes. But only the ones that are easy
and cute. So, still no pants. Only dresses, skirts, and items with crotch snaps. Pants will have to be an incentive for potty training. ;)

She does have some really cute clothes |
I was vacuuming the house (with TerraDactyl in her Tula carrier) when DH walked up to me and stole my phone out of my pocket without saying a word. I was listening to my bluetooth headphones when they cut out. And at this point I'm like "where is he taking my phone? My headphones reach throughout the entire house." A minute later, DH came back and showed me the picture he'd taken. Why didn't he use his own phone? He didn't know where it was. But he always knows where mine is and he didn't want to miss the picture opportunity. Silly husband. But I have to admit I'm glad I got to see the picture of Riley hanging out in the woodshed.

Where Riley goes when he wants to be outside, but not in the rain... |
Maybe she's just tired of taking Paul's crap. "Keep that blue box OFF YOUR HEAD, Paul!!"
