Rattle Socks!

We received some Itty Bittys Rattle Socks at TerraDactyl's baby shower.  They were too big for her feet initially, so I set them aside.  When I did add them into the sock rotation, well, by then I had kind of stopped using socks.  I was (and still kind of am) a HUGE fan of footie pajamas.  I love the all-in-one simplicity of it.  :)  But, TerraDactyl's been kicking her feet a lot more and this morning I just decided to try out the rattle socks. 

Is that MY feet making that weird noise??

Well, it took TerraDactyl a little bit to realize that her feet were rattling.  It was pretty funny watching her kick her feet and eventually figure out the connection to kicking her feet and hearing the rattle.  But before long she was totally into it. 


In fact, she spent the whole day kicking her feet.  And I spent the whole day putting her socks back on.  Because when there's a mass at the end of the toe and that toe is constantly kicking...  the socks fall off.  So that was a little annoying. 

Aww, mom!  Why don't my feet make noise anymore?

But I think TerraDactyl did like the rattle.  So, I'm thinking of attaching the rattles to the toes of some of her footie pajamas.  Why aren't rattle footed footie pajamas a thing?  Maybe I should start designing baby clothes...  :)

TerraDactyl likes staring at fabric.  And pulling fabric.  And sucking on fabric.  She really likes fabric.

Honey, Where are my pants?

The other day, DH and I were getting ready to leave the house and DH asked me to run downstairs to grab his wallet.  Sure thing, no problem.  I spent 10 minutes looking for his wallet before giving up.  DH looked downstairs for his wallet while I looked upstairs and in the car.  DH looked upstairs and in the car.  We finally gave up and left.  I had to drive instead of DH.  We spent a whole day thinking DH's wallet was missing.  Since he hadn't left the house in a week, we figured he lost it the last time he did leave.  When we finally got back to the house DH found this gadget  that links to your phone.  When you lose your wallet, you phone pings the card and it makes a noise so you can find the wallet.  Apparently, DH isn't the only one to have this problem.  ;)  Oh, and we found his wallet.  Phew!  It was in the pocket of his pants in the laundry basket.  Which we BOTH checked, multiple times.  Turns out, sometimes having a plethora of pockets in a pair of pants is a bad

Furniture Galore!

Well, DH and I have finally passed the last milestone to official adulthood.  It's not having a baby - lots of people choose not to or can't have kids.  It's not buying a house - people in big cities often can't buy houses because big cities are insane (a completely unbiased fact).  And it has nothing to do with age.  Nope.  The last milestone to adult hood is:  buying non-IKEA furniture.  DH and I are big proponents of hand-me-downs.  And we've got by pretty well so far, thanks to our generous family and friends.  But we did need a new bed, and I fell in love with one, so we ended up paying retail for it.  It was on sale, at least.  And it's really cool. Summer Camp

  Tomorrow TerraDactyl will be starting her first day of summer camp.  It's twice a week for 3 hours each day.  The class is super small (5 kids) and they're all 3 or 4 years old.  It's only for the month of July.  Hopefully, she'll like it.  It's a nut-free building, so I was struggling to find filling snacks for TerraDactyl to bring with her.  I ended up finding these snack cups of olives and pouches of pickles.  I was so excited about my find.  And you know what DH had to say?  "Olives and pickles for snacks?  What are you trying to get TerraDactyl bullied?"  :P  (I'm still packing the olives for her). TerraDactyl really does like olives though.  She seems to kind of like the pickles, but the olives pretty much always get cleaned off her plate.  I'd also like to point out that neither DH nor I taught her to shove the olives onto her fingers.  She just started doing that one day.  Maybe it's innate...  I think TerraDactyl told her first ridd
