Back to Reasonable Temperatures

Well, it was only in the eighties yesterday, so THAT was a huge relief!  TerraDactyl was so much happier in the cooler temperature.  She even needed to wear clothes so she didn't get too cold!

Since TerraDactyl was calmer, I was able to get more done.  Mostly a lot of laundry.  I got the sheets (and blankets) washed this time!  I did like 5 loads of laundry.  It was a record.  TerraDactyl was calm enough that I tried to get her to nap by herself.  It worked OK.  She didn't stay asleep long in her bassinet.  I almost got her to fall asleep in her Mamaroo.  She was so close.  But then she decided that was no good.

DH had to work an hour later yesterday.  He was super worried that we'd be eating each other alive or something, but we did alright.  It's a good thing my day managed to be semi-productive because my evening was not.  Usually I hand TerraDactyl off to DH when he gets home and I do all the chores I didn't manage to finish while he was gone.  But last night we ended up watching the (spoiler) last game of the NBA finals.  It was a nail biter.  I didn't even really care who won (since the Trailblazers got knocked out by the Warriors) and I was still on the edge of my seat!  I was so into the game I forgot to eat dinner until it was over.  So there went three hours of my evening.  ;) 

When the 4th quarter started I think there was like a two point difference in the score (it was super close) and the media people were trying to interview one of the coaches during the game.  These interviews always annoy me - I'm trying to watch the game, not some stupid interview...  Anyways, the coach was super abrupt.  He just said "More of the same" and went back to trying to coach his team.  It was hilarious.  I kind of wish all the coaches would do that and then maybe they'd stop trying to do those interviews during game play.  :D

That picture is TerraDactyl napping on "My Brest Friend".  It's a breast feeding pillow that straps around my torso.  It's like a big flat platform that TerraDactyl rests on while she eats so I don't have to hold her up.  I've got a Boppy, but I prefer the My Brest Friend.  It's just more secure.  The Boppy is smaller though, so it's a little more convenient if we're traveling.

Honey, Where are my pants?

The other day, DH and I were getting ready to leave the house and DH asked me to run downstairs to grab his wallet.  Sure thing, no problem.  I spent 10 minutes looking for his wallet before giving up.  DH looked downstairs for his wallet while I looked upstairs and in the car.  DH looked upstairs and in the car.  We finally gave up and left.  I had to drive instead of DH.  We spent a whole day thinking DH's wallet was missing.  Since he hadn't left the house in a week, we figured he lost it the last time he did leave.  When we finally got back to the house DH found this gadget  that links to your phone.  When you lose your wallet, you phone pings the card and it makes a noise so you can find the wallet.  Apparently, DH isn't the only one to have this problem.  ;)  Oh, and we found his wallet.  Phew!  It was in the pocket of his pants in the laundry basket.  Which we BOTH checked, multiple times.  Turns out, sometimes having a plethora of pockets in a pair of pants is a bad

Furniture Galore!

Well, DH and I have finally passed the last milestone to official adulthood.  It's not having a baby - lots of people choose not to or can't have kids.  It's not buying a house - people in big cities often can't buy houses because big cities are insane (a completely unbiased fact).  And it has nothing to do with age.  Nope.  The last milestone to adult hood is:  buying non-IKEA furniture.  DH and I are big proponents of hand-me-downs.  And we've got by pretty well so far, thanks to our generous family and friends.  But we did need a new bed, and I fell in love with one, so we ended up paying retail for it.  It was on sale, at least.  And it's really cool. Summer Camp

  Tomorrow TerraDactyl will be starting her first day of summer camp.  It's twice a week for 3 hours each day.  The class is super small (5 kids) and they're all 3 or 4 years old.  It's only for the month of July.  Hopefully, she'll like it.  It's a nut-free building, so I was struggling to find filling snacks for TerraDactyl to bring with her.  I ended up finding these snack cups of olives and pouches of pickles.  I was so excited about my find.  And you know what DH had to say?  "Olives and pickles for snacks?  What are you trying to get TerraDactyl bullied?"  :P  (I'm still packing the olives for her). TerraDactyl really does like olives though.  She seems to kind of like the pickles, but the olives pretty much always get cleaned off her plate.  I'd also like to point out that neither DH nor I taught her to shove the olives onto her fingers.  She just started doing that one day.  Maybe it's innate...  I think TerraDactyl told her first ridd
